Position Overview:
This role is integral in supporting the acquisition of right-of-way (ROW) for transportation projects and other governmental entities, including processes related to condemnation and relocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the acquisition of ROW for transportation projects and governmental entities.
  • Facilitate condemnation processes, including coordination of hearings.
  • Support relocation efforts for both residential and commercial properties.
  • Evaluate parcels and ROW maps to identify potential conflicts.
  • Conduct technical and administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Engage in negotiations for the acquisition of real estate to ensure timely closings.
  • Perform county record searches to gather property information.
  • Review titles and address potential curative issues.
  • Coordinate right-of-way and utility matters for clients, particularly in relation to construction projects.
  • Maintain familiarity with federal, state, and industry regulations, including FHWA, FAA, FTA, FRA, FERC, and the Uniform Relocation Act.
  • Support real property projects through property assessments, risk analysis, acquisition of rights, occupant relocation, property management, and utility coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with schedule and budget while adhering to applicable laws and client policies.
  • Deliver necessary documents and materials within the project scope as required.
  • Manage and prepare files and documents in the office, while also engaging with property owners in the field.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations as directed by project or program management.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and project managers for guidance and coordination.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate project files as needed.
  • Strive for efficiency to enhance productivity, quality, and service.
  • Complete assignments within designated timelines and communicate any exceptions to management.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for project-related needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Texas Real Estate license is mandatory.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance are required.
  • Experience with Texas Department of Transportation ROW projects, particularly in negotiation, relocation, and eminent domain processes.
  • Knowledge of TxDOT policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lift small boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish (conversational proficiency preferred).
  • IRWA certifications are a plus (e.g., SR/WA, R/W-NAC, R/W-RAC, RWP).
