Position Overview
This role is responsible for the design and execution of technical services to meet the needs of clients and project management. The position encompasses both fieldwork and office responsibilities, along with providing project management support for conventional assessment and remediation initiatives.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the environmental consulting sector, demonstrating advancement in technical site investigation, remediation, and task management.
- Experience in bulk petroleum or chemical facilities is advantageous.
- Skilled in developing field programs and overseeing projects and related field operations, including scheduling, task coordination, budgeting, and subcontractor management.
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and managing the field execution of standard remedial technologies and supporting senior professionals with both conceptual and detailed remedial design tasks.
- Proven project management and task management capabilities.
- Intermediate skills in data evaluation and analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Familiarity with common technical protocols and regulatory standards, including knowledge of relevant state remediation requirements.
- Willingness to mentor and support the professional development of junior staff through direct engagement and guidance.
- Field Coordination and Management:
- Establish work plans and protocols, supervise field operations, and coordinate field personnel to implement technically sound project strategies. This may also involve direct execution of field activities.
- Technical Data Review and Report Preparation:
- Oversee the collection and analysis of project data, including synthesizing field data to assess future client needs and project specifications. Interpret findings and prepare comprehensive reports for managerial review that accurately document results and remediation recommendations.
- Project Management:
- Ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements by monitoring and reviewing individual task schedules, budgets, and client invoicing to successfully complete project work.
- Staff Mentoring and Training:
- Contribute to the development of junior staff and collaborate with senior management to enhance personal growth as a consultant and leader within the organization.
This position involves both fieldwork and office tasks. In the field, the candidate will work independently or lead a team at various project sites to conduct sample collection, monitor operational parameters, and oversee subcontractors. Fieldwork requires the ability to travel to different locations and navigate various terrains, often in challenging weather conditions and sometimes for extended hours. The role involves using monitoring instruments and tools, necessitating physical capabilities such as lifting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, and twisting. Office responsibilities are primarily sedentary, involving computer use that requires repetitive hand movements.
