Vice President of Collections Risk Strategy

The Risk Policy Officer serves as a pivotal strategic professional, consistently updating their knowledge of advancements within their domain and contributing to the overarching strategy by applying insights relevant to their role and the organization. They are recognized as a technical authority in their field, requiring a foundational understanding of commercial dynamics. Typically, multiple experts exist within the organization, providing similar levels of subject matter expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Oversee the management of portfolio risk policies for designated products, emphasizing the growth and maintenance of robust portfolios through various account management initiatives, including limit adjustments and account renewals or closures.

+ Administer the merchant policy for the Cards product, ensuring a strong merchant business through effective exposure management and adherence to merchant acquiring policies.

+ Manage third-party exposure and key monetary policies (where applicable), ensuring that exposure remains within the defined risk appetite.

+ Collaborate with colleagues from Business, Sales, Credit Operations, Decision Management, Operations, and Technology to ensure the accurate implementation of policies at an operational level.

+ Engage with regional counterparts for policy approval and compliance with Global and Regional Policy requirements.

+ Provide analytical insights at both portfolio and segment levels to monitor performance, adjust policies as necessary, and facilitate sound credit decisions aimed at optimizing risk and rewards.

+ Partner with the Risk Management Information Systems team, responsible for Credit Risk Reporting and Portfolio Quality Review Reporting, while also supporting ad-hoc reporting needs.

+ Ensure the accuracy and reporting of critical portfolio data to the organization’s key regulators.

+ Conduct regular validations and develop portfolio scoring and segmentation models in collaboration with regional and global risk analytics teams.

+ Assess risk appropriately when making business decisions, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the organization's reputation and safeguarding its assets, clients, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

+ 6-10 years of experience in Statistics, Analytics, or Decision Management is preferred.

+ High ethical standards and integrity are essential.

+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.

+ Strong listening abilities.

+ Effective negotiation skills, with a proactive approach to communicating risk issues and the ability to maintain independent viewpoints.

+ Capability to work across various levels in risk management and collaborate with other operational and business teams.

+ Excellent presentation skills, adept at engaging diverse audiences and adapting communication styles as needed.

+ Proficient in identifying and influencing key decision-makers across different levels and functions within the organization.

+ Ability to thrive in a rapidly evolving external environment and support the business in a competitive landscape.

Education:

+ Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
