About the Role:

As a Commercial Territory Sales Specialist, you will engage with independent agencies within your designated territory to enhance relationships, promote services, and drive referrals. Your role will involve in-person meetings to persuade agencies to effectively market Progressive's offerings while providing tailored marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and establish new agency partnerships within the territory.
  • Utilize a company-provided vehicle, phone, laptop, and company card for your daily operations.
  • Travel across Virginia, Metro DC, Maryland, Delaware, and nearby areas, with overnight stays required approximately 1-2 nights per week.

Home Office Location: Flexible within the designated areas.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (e.g., Marketing, Business Management) with a minimum of three years of experience in outside business-to-business sales.
  • Alternatively, five years of experience in outside business-to-business sales or in the property and casualty sector may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must comply with Progressive's driving standards and possess a valid driver's license along with auto insurance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven track record in outside business-to-business sales.
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a field-based role.
  • Strong networking skills to achieve objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with customer relationship management tools (e.g., Salesforce).

Compensation: $91,000 - $111,000/year, with a Gainshare bonus of up to 30% based on company performance.
