Position Overview:
This position is responsible for spearheading our SEC reporting and technical accounting initiatives.

The ideal candidate will apply their background in the biotechnology sector and public accounting to collaborate with the finance team and the broader organization, ensuring the delivery of precise and timely financial data along with compliant SEC submissions, while continuously seeking to enhance our processes.


Key Responsibilities:


Oversee the Company's SEC reporting on Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy, and other miscellaneous filings, including the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, auditable support, and associated XBRL requirements.

Review supporting schedules and documentation for SEC filings and ensure the accuracy of financial statement tie-outs.
Prepare and review quarterly and annual disclosure checklists.
Plan for filings by developing the reporting calendar and coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
Lead the research and drafting of technical accounting memoranda.

Analyze and document non-recurring transactions by proactively identifying accounting implications, applying relevant accounting standards, and exercising judgment in subjective areas.

Determine presentation and disclosure requirements related to transactions.

Manage equity and stock-based compensation accounting during the period-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, fair value calculations, accounting for modifications, and appropriate disclosures in the financial statements.

Stay informed on new accounting pronouncements and policy developments, leading implementation efforts, including necessary disclosures and training for senior management.

Coordinate with external tax consultants to ensure timely delivery of ongoing tax projects using accurate inputs.
Engage with external auditors, including preparation of PBC items and addressing review comments.
Assist in the establishment and maintenance of accounting policies, best practices, and procedures.
Conduct special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as necessary.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
8+ years of combined public accounting and industry experience in a public company; experience in Biotech or Life Sciences is preferred.
Direct experience and proficiency with SEC reporting and XBRL.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations with the ability to accurately interpret and apply new and existing US GAAP guidance.

Solid understanding of SOX404.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-driven.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Entrepreneurial mindset and enjoys working in a dynamic, creative, and resourceful small company environment.

The expected annual salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 - $186,000, plus eligibility for bonus, benefits, and equity incentives.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, business needs, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
