The City Entry & Expansion division within Zoox's Product & Operations framework is tasked with the strategic orchestration and implementation of Zoox's market entry into new urban landscapes.

By collaborating across various departments, we facilitate the technical and product milestones essential for the successful deployment of Zoox's autonomous robotaxi service in each new metropolitan area.

Following the initial rollout, our focus shifts to continuous service enhancements and ensuring that operations achieve full capacity to serve broader communities.

Our objective is to thoughtfully extend Zoox's presence while closely partnering with internal stakeholders to lay a robust groundwork for sustainable success in every new location.

The Lead Technical Program Manager for Urban Expansion oversees the strategic roadmap for launching Zoox's autonomous robotaxi service in emerging cities.

In close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Strategy, Product, Operations, Technical, Communications, and Policy, you will spearhead the successful introduction and ongoing development of Zoox's service in each new market.

This role entails defining the service area, scaling strategies, and operational benchmarks while leading the integration of strategic planning and execution to achieve critical milestones.

Post-launch, your focus will transition to the maintenance and enhancement of the robotaxi service, working alongside city operations teams to ensure compliance with Zoox's standards and implementing improvements as necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the roadmap management for a new city in alignment with directives from Strategy, Product, and Technical teams, including targeted service areas, scaling, and operational objectives.

- Collaborate with Zoox product and program managers to drive milestones for your city through meticulous planning and execution, while defining and monitoring KPIs for launch, growth, and service sustainability.

- Ensure the operational infrastructure for vehicle storage, charging, maintenance, and transportation is established for both launch and scaling.

- Facilitate external engagements through Communications, Business, Policy, and Operations teams, interacting with community, government (city and state), and commercial partners. Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing team on public relations campaigns regarding service in the city.

- Work with the AI & Autonomy teams to deploy our Highlander test fleet in your city to gather mapping data and begin accumulating autonomous miles.

- Drive post-launch enhancements to the Operational Design Domain (ODD), scaling, and operational improvements as well as product offerings in your city.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent cross-functional experience.

- 10+ years of experience in engineering, product management, or program management with a focus on product/service launches.

- Proven experience in expanding existing operations into new markets.

- Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional projects across multiple disciplines, including engineering, operations, communications, legal, government/regulatory agencies, and commercial partners.

- A curious mindset with a penchant for exploring new ideas, independent thinking, and a commitment to continuous learning, capable of addressing challenging problems.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and sometimes high-pressure environment, with a willingness to delve into the technical details of supported projects.

- Experience in a New Product Introduction (NPI) product-based environment with rapidly expanding market operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree or MBA.

- Experience in the mobility industry or other safety-centric sectors.

- Proven track record in developing and scaling strategies, processes, plans, procedures, reporting, and escalation protocols.

- PMP certification.

Compensation:

- The compensation package for this position includes salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights.

- The salary range for this role is $172,000 to $216,000, with potential sign-on bonuses as part of the overall compensation package. Compensation may vary based on geographic location and level.

- Leveling and positioning within a level are determined by various factors, including relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.

- The salary range mentioned reflects the levels Zoox is considering for this position.
