Business Development Director

This role is responsible for driving strategic growth and expansion through acquisitions, partnerships, and new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in business development, with a strong network of industry contacts and a deep understanding of the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth and expansion into new markets.
- Identify and pursue strategic acquisition opportunities that align with the company's growth objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, owners, and external partners.
- Lead the development of business cases and financial models to support or refute new business opportunities.
- Oversee the sourcing, underwriting, acquisition, disposition, debt, and equity procurement processes.
- Lead interactions and negotiations with targets to drive deals forward and identify opportunities for mutual value creation.
- Develop and execute strategies to meet or exceed annual goals and objectives in the areas of growth and profitability.
- Set goals and objectives for the team to achieve the company's overall performance and growth goals.
- Develop business plans and reports, looking at competitive edge strategies.
- Conduct return on investment analysis and feasibility studies.
- Work closely with the VP, Strategic Programs and executive leadership team to ensure all opportunities are operationally, commercially, and economically viable.
- Oversee and direct the team's market research and analysis activities.
- Maintain a keen awareness of marketplace competition and keep executive leadership team abreast of changing positions through effective communication.
- Coordinate activities across applicable departments and external vendors as appropriate.
- Lead and oversee a team of industry and market research specialists.
- Communicate status and issues updates in a timely manner to the Chief Transformation Officer.
- Work closely with all business teams to understand and prepare for the changes being made, as well as when and how their roles and functions will be impacted.
- Manage expense and revenue targets to meet or beat budget.
- Maintain overall project/program plans; ensure and drive deliverables to completion per the implementation specifications, schedule, and budget; provide overall coordination by tracking all deliverables, milestones, critical dependencies, and related tasks across all related projects; communicate status and any associated risks, issues, and action items to Chief Transformation Officer.
- Bachelor's degree in related field required. Masters' degree preferred.
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in business development, with a minimum of five years in a leadership role and demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Deep industry knowledge and an extensive network of industry contacts preferred.
- Exceptional presentation skills with ability to facilitate, listen, write and speak effectively.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with a high degree of detail.
