Job Title: Director of Development

Gilda's Club Middle Tennessee seeks a seasoned Director of Development to lead its fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of revenue development, enabling the organization to provide its cancer support program at no charge to Middle Tennesseans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster a culture of philanthropy across the organization.
  • Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan, including individual giving, employee giving, monthly sustainers, planned giving, foundation requests, corporate sponsorships, special events, and third-party fundraising.
  • Oversee the Development revenue budget, special event budgets, cash projections, and all aspects of fundraising operations.
  • Lead staff and volunteers in fundraising cycle best practices and relationship development.
  • Lead the Development Committee of the Board of Directors, as well as various special event committees.
  • Engage volunteers in relationship and revenue development.
  • Educate and enlist the Board and committee members to build and strengthen donor relationships.
  • Oversee the grants process, including procurement of new grants, grant-writing, and follow-up with public and private entities.
  • Plan and execute, with staff and volunteer support, annual fundraising events, including the Red Door Bash gala and Gilda's Club Golf Classic golf tournament.
  • Engage in major gift solicitation and create solicitation opportunities for the President and CEO.
  • Assure development and maintenance of appropriate systems to fund development, including but not limited to volunteer and donor management, research and cultivation, and gift processing and recognition.
  • Maintain accountability and compliance standards for donors and funding sources.
  • Work closely with the Director of Finance, Director of Marketing, and other key stakeholders.
  • Supervise part-time Development staff.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, five+ years of fundraising experience, and a proven track record of securing five-figure gifts. They will be an effective communicator, a resourceful problem-solver, and a self-starter who is organized and can manage multiple projects at any given time.
