Job Summary

The EMS Liaison and Growth Strategist plays a pivotal role in fostering and maintaining strong relationships between Baylor Scott & White Health and local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance the EMS service line, driving growth and positive perceptions of the hospital brand among customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate market data, competitive information, and financial data to inform strategic decisions and develop effective growth strategies.
  • Participate in and lead initiatives to increase volume and enhance the hospital's brand reputation among EMS agencies and customers.
  • Coordinate effective communication with EMS agencies, providing timely feedback, patient follow-ups, and issue resolution to support meaningful relationship development.
  • Elevate team culture among pre-hospital and hospital providers, promoting positive market growth and collaboration.
  • Strategically engage with EMS agencies, fire departments, medical direction, and other governmental agencies to foster strong partnerships and drive growth.
  • Address issues that arise between the hospital and EMS agencies, ensuring seamless transitions of care and shared processes.
  • Monitor and track outreach, meetings, and education efforts to ensure effective communication and coordination between healthcare and emergency response entities.
  • Work with service line leaders to monitor care provided, identify trends in care, and ensure compliance with identified program standards.
  • Demonstrate current knowledge of EMS practices, protocols, regulatory requirements, and policies and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison to and maintain a strong, positive relationship with the hospital and area EMS providers.
  • Facilitate EMS performance improvement and quality review by working with local EMS agencies and medical directors.
  • In cooperation with emergency department leadership, establish and maintain a process to quickly and safely receive patients from EMS agencies, allowing for a short turn-around time for EMS crews.
  • Assist with health system disaster preparedness.
  • Provide reports and statistics to hospital leadership concerning EMS growth and relationship development or hinderances.
Requirements
  • Business development, relationship building, and growth-focused mindset.
  • Knowledge of local EMS medical direction protocols, structure, policies, and procedures.
  • Record-keeping and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong presentation skills and effective communication at a leadership level.
  • Ability to pivot communication style to effectively convey and resonate with specific audiences from ground crew to executive level.
  • Deliver clear verbal and written professional communication.
