Laboratory Operations Coordinator

Overview of the Role:
The Laboratory Operations Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting faculty and teaching assistants across various laboratory courses. Responsibilities include:
- Ordering and managing laboratory supplies and chemicals.
- Preparing solutions for laboratory experiments.
- Overseeing and training teaching assistants.
- Managing service agreements with vendors for major laboratory instruments.
- Coordinating maintenance and repairs for laboratory equipment.
- Facilitating the removal of outdated equipment.
- Providing training for students and faculty on the proper use of laboratory instruments.
- Assisting new faculty with the procurement and installation of laboratory equipment.
- Collaborating with the Biology Department Chair to optimize laboratory space.
- Supporting the setup of laboratories for incoming faculty members.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in biology, a related scientific discipline, or engineering.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a laboratory environment.
