We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Visitor Management Specialist. This position is part-time and offers opportunities for weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts.


Position Details:

Location: Washington, DC

Security Clearance Required: Secret Clearance


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive visitor management support to the Federal Protective Service (FPS) Visitor Management and Access Control (VMAC) program.
  • Ensure visitors are registered in the Visitor Management System (VMS) before issuing visitor badges.
  • Verify that visitors possess valid government-issued identification in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Issue parking permits as authorized by the VMS or relevant authorities.
  • Adhere to FPS protocols for large events and ceremonies at designated facilities.
  • Collaborate with FPS representatives to address visitor requests and emergencies effectively.
  • Manage communications related to visitor management duties through phone and electronic correspondence.
  • Conduct thorough background checks utilizing the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.
  • Evaluate background check results based on established policies for visitor access.
  • Research criminal histories by reviewing relevant court case information.
  • Perform secondary inquiries into immigration databases and determine visitor access based on criminal history.
  • Facilitate visitor access in compliance with established procedures using the VMS.
  • Assist in coordinating visitor management for large events and construction projects.
  • Participate in meetings regarding upcoming projects and events.
  • Deliver briefings to visitors on access procedures and policies.
  • Support the organization of numerous annual events.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect Personal Identification Information (PII) in accordance with privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with various organizational branches to achieve objectives.
  • Provide assistance with special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in visitor management within controlled access environments.
  • Familiarity with NCIC/NLETS is highly desirable.
  • Experience in reviewing and approving visitor requests in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to conduct detailed research and analyze technical data.
  • Proficient in interpreting management policies and regulations.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (2010 or higher).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on empathy and problem-solving.
  • Capacity to remain vigilant and attentive throughout shifts.
  • Willingness to navigate the campus under varying weather conditions.
