Position Overview

Type: Temp to Hire

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm (DC office), 8:30am-5pm (MD office) with rotating Saturday shifts: 8am-12pm (not every week)

Location: Must be flexible to work in both Washington, DC and Prince Georges County, MD offices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with team members to support operations at both the DC and Maryland locations.
  • Manage appointment scheduling using eCW electronic medical records system.
  • Register patients, ensuring accurate demographic data entry and verification.
  • Maintain a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors by monitoring clinic access and sensitive areas.
  • Oversee the lobby atmosphere, managing noise levels and addressing conflicts as they arise.
  • Exhibit professional communication with patients, customers, and colleagues, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Assist management in upholding safety protocols and understanding emergency response procedures.
  • Welcome clients upon arrival and facilitate check-in through service area kiosks.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as scanning, photocopying, faxing, mailing, and completing registration packets.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, ensuring data integrity and compliance with Patient Rights and HIPAA Privacy Standards.
  • Participate in relevant meetings to contribute to program development and success.
  • Engage in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and best practices.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Medical Assistant certification is advantageous.
  • 2-4 years of experience in medical administration or front desk roles.
  • Experience in an outpatient medical setting is preferred, with pediatric experience being a plus.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records, particularly ECW, is beneficial.
  • Proficient in technical computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience, ideally within a healthcare environment.
