Position Overview

In the role of Senior Advisor – Language Access, you will be instrumental in advancing the objectives of the Health and Human Services (HHS), Office for Civil Rights (OCR). Your key responsibilities will encompass the development of language access compliance frameworks, the centralization of resources, and collaboration with various HHS Divisions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Initiate and lead the establishment of language access compliance frameworks and procedures.
  • Assess and provide constructive feedback on proposed language access regulations.
  • Forge partnerships with fellow language access coordinators across federal agencies.
  • Coordinate outreach initiatives and deliver comprehensive language access training.
  • Facilitate meetings and oversee the outcomes of the HHS Language Access Steering Committee.
  • Offer expert guidance to multiple departments regarding language access requirements.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in international relations is required, along with a minimum of 4 years of pertinent experience.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Language Proficiency

Capable of reading and interpreting business publications, drafting reports, and effectively communicating information to diverse audiences.

Mathematical Competence

Ability to perform fundamental mathematical operations and analyze graphical data.

Analytical Skills

Proficient in identifying issues, gathering data, and deriving valid conclusions from technical documentation.

Physical Requirements

This position is primarily office-based, involving tasks such as sitting, utilizing computer tools, and occasionally lifting items.
