Job Overview

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will possess a current TS/SCI or equivalent security clearance at the time of employment. Alternatively, candidates who have previously held a Top Secret or equivalent clearance that was terminated without prejudice within the last six months may also be considered.

Additionally, candidates who have received a clearance from another agency based on a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or Tier 5 Investigation completed within the last five years are encouraged to apply. Favorable adjudicated results from a completed SSBI within the last ten years, along with an SSBI Periodic Re-investigation within the last five years, are also acceptable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide access control at designated SCIF entrances.
  • Escort personnel for various activities as required.
  • Manage and create identification badges as necessary.
  • Support administrative functions, including the development of policies, procedures, and training materials related to security.

Educational Requirements: High School Diploma.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a similar role, which may include private sector, civil service, or military experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, along with effective conflict resolution techniques.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining professionalism with senior management and guests.
  • Familiarity with Intelligence Community security policies and directives is preferred.
  • Experience with escort procedures within SCI facilities is required.
  • Functional knowledge of badge reader systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Extensive understanding of physical security measures and protocols for SCIF access.
  • Knowledge of U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) policies regarding security containers and locks.

Additional Duties:

  • Interact professionally with government personnel, congressional representatives, military members, and other civilian personnel.
  • Maintain physical security at the access control station during operational hours.
  • Process visitors entering the SCIF, verify clearance levels, issue visitor badges, and maintain visitor logs.
  • Provide customer service to SCIF visitors as needed.
  • Enforce SCIF regulations and protocols.
  • Assist in the review, analysis, and development of internal and external policies and procedures.
  • May be required to provide on-call or emergency support and possess knowledge of emergency action protocols.
  • Contribute to the creation of Standard Operating Procedures and standardized forms.
  • Prepare and manage general correspondence as required.
  • Conduct administrative security functions as necessary.
