Position Overview:

The role involves providing liaison engineering support for extensive maintenance operations at aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Delivering technical guidance and engineering authorizations for aircraft issues that surpass established limits for structural integrity, including repairs to sheet metal and composite materials, often necessitating structural analysis.
  • Issuing work deviation approvals and interpreting service documentation and engineering orders.
  • Evaluating repair versus replacement options to reduce financial implications.
  • Assisting Base Maintenance with troubleshooting aircraft systems.
  • Participating in daily production and pre-induction meetings to ensure prompt support.
  • Providing on-site engineering support for heavily damaged aircraft as necessary.
  • Coordinating with Engineering Fleet Groups for further actions, troubleshooting, and follow-up.
  • Monitoring trends and recurring issues that require corrective measures, and developing typical repair protocols and supplementary manuals to mitigate repetitive requests.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
  • A minimum of two years in a relevant technical field.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in performing structural analysis to validate repairs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), FAA policies, and vendor manuals (AMM, IPC, CMM).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate internal customer needs.
  • Experience in aircraft, airline, MRO, or aviation engineering is preferred.

Work Schedule:

  • Typical work schedule is Tuesday through the following Monday.
  • 10-hour shifts (with an additional 5 hours of pay on either end for travel).
  • 7 on/7 off rotation (no relocation required).
  • Travel expenses covered (including flights, accommodations, rental vehicles, etc.).

Location Details:

The initial location will commence in Charlotte for training lasting two to three weeks. Following training, the position will transition to one of the other specified locations, subject to change with prior notice based on coverage needs.

This is a W-2 hourly position with an estimated pay rate of $65.00 per hour.
