Job Summary

TAT Technologies is seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) quality operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in our products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Assess Inspection Operations: Develop and assess inspection operation sequences, methods, gages, and inspection equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Design Agency Engineers: Interact with design agency engineers and suppliers to resolve design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
  • Utilize Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data-driven decision making to manage first pass yield, through-put, and continuous improvements to metrics and trends.
  • Provide Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to suppliers and inspection areas to ensure the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure Safety and Health: Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established ES&H requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment.
Essential Duties
  • Perform Inspections: Perform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished products according to requirements.
  • Inspect Incoming Customer Units: Inspect incoming customer units for potential defects.
  • Inspect Customer Units: Inspect customer units per level 2 weld criteria American Weld Society (AWS).
  • Test and Measure: Test in accordance with Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) and measure and document mechanical, electrical and visual properties of materials and parts.
  • Validate Raw Materials: Validate raw materials to certifications and purchase order requirements.
  • Document Inspections: Document inspections in electronic logs, databases or other customer formats as required.
  • Perform First Article Inspections: Perform First Article Inspections (AS9102).
  • Provide Feedback: Provide detailed, accurate feedback to shop personnel and management on inspected products.
  • Practice Good Housekeeping: Practice good housekeeping and 5S principles.
  • Suggest Process Improvements: Suggest and implement process improvement ideas.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of measurement and inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Mechanical and Mathematical Aptitude: Mechanical, mathematical aptitude.
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Microsoft Office skills.
  • CMM Inspection Skills: Skills for CMM inspection preferred.
  • MRO Experience: Previous MRO evaluation experience preferred but willing to train for the right person.
Physical Demands
  • Standing and Sitting: Standing and sitting for long periods of time.
  • Good Mobility: Good mobility (position requires movement around the shop floor).
  • Bending and Reaching: Bending, reaching.
  • Lifting: Lifting up to 50 pounds.
