About the Role

Spirit AeroSystems is a leading manufacturer of large structural parts for commercial aircraft, defense programs, and other cutting-edge projects. As a Tooling Engineering intern, you will play a crucial role in improving our production processes and contributing to the success of our company.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand production and tooling processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead projects to enhance current build processes by utilizing tool design and fabrication resources, applying design expertise using CATIA-V5 to design/modify production or support fixtures.
  • Develop activity-based plans, project schedules, and executive summaries to ensure timely completion and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Determine specifications and scope of projects, focusing on safety, ergonomics, lean manufacturing, shipping, and handling improvements.
  • Present project progress and conclusions to team members and leadership, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
