About the Role

The Project Manager for Supply Chain Development will be responsible for supporting suppliers in the Kansas and Oklahoma area. This role will involve approximately 75% travel to suppliers and the remaining 25% will be spent on administrative tasks at home. The selected candidate must be able to travel to these areas within a few hours.

As a Supply Chain Development Project Manager, you will be a proactive project manager who resolves issues in the supply chain. Your end goal will be to ensure that products are delivered on time and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead elements of assessments to determine suppliers' ability to meet production rates and identify opportunities for improvement.
  2. Utilize standardized assessment tools to identify opportunities for improvement in operational areas such as maintenance management, production control, materials planning, and lean manufacturing principles.
  3. Provide oversight and guidance to suppliers to address opportunities and validate that actions are implemented and show marked measured improvement.
  4. Measure the supply chain by gathering standardized leading indicator metrics to proactively address negative trends that may adversely affect delivery performance.
  5. Lead suppliers through transition planning and execution with minimal impact to the company's production line.
  6. Provide on-site support to the Supply Chain, Operations, and Logistics.
  7. Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal functional areas to ensure information, documentation, and product flow meet objectives.
  8. Work with suppliers to identify operational, supply chain, and quality constraints while providing value-added process improvements to reduce supplier cycle times to meet program deadlines.
  9. Coordinate, chair, and lead daily operational meetings and conference calls with suppliers to provide critical milestone plans, recovery actions, and information to purchasing when required.
  10. Assist suppliers in the development of performance metrics, capacity plans, employee training matrices, milestone plans, and project plans.
  11. Develop, coach, and mentor problem-solving skills and create problem solvers within the organization.
  12. Participate and lead joint continuous improvement events.
  13. Establish methods to identify and/or track root causes and provide corrective action.
Requirements
  1. Computer literate, MS Office, various software apps.
  2. Project management skills with working knowledge of the principles of analytical problem-solving techniques.
  3. Mfg and Industrial eng experience preferred.
