Job Summary:

The Paint Shop Supervisor is a leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Paint Shop at Accurus Aerospace Corporation. This position requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity, as well as the ability to lead and motivate a team of employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly objectives to employees
  • Organize and implement the daily production plan for the Paint Shop, utilizing SSRS reports to optimize efficiency
  • Monitor and maintain work areas to meet or exceed company 5S and safety standards
  • Oversee the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance
  • Perform verification of production output according to specifications
  • Take corrective action measures as needed to resolve issues and drive innovation, efficiency, and safety excellence
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines and company standards
  • Effective communication with other manufacturing departments
  • Work with Material Specialists to ensure inventory is properly managed and kept accurate
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel to maintain and repair tools and machinery
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Provide direction to the shop for any issues with production orders, including special design requests
  • Coordinate with engineering on problem orders going through production
  • Work closely with team leaders to ensure their development and provide necessary tools for job completion
  • Develop a cross-trained workforce

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aerospace painting environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Extensive knowledge of painting techniques, equipment, and safety procedures specific to the aerospace industry
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organized and reliable
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility
  • Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 100 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material-handling equipment
  • Periodically lift overhead and carry, push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally reach overhead and reach out or down to perform duties
  • Frequently climb steps, stairs, or ladders
  • Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
  • Frequently use hand or fingers to manually inspect parts, tighten hardware & fixtures, and operate machine and material handling controls
  • Accurately distinguish colors to respond to sensors, indicators, and color-variable dashboards
  • Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices

Working Conditions:

  • Excessive noise (hearing protection required)
  • Dust, smoke, mist, fumes/vapors (regularly)
  • Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
  • Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment (continually)
