AECOM is seeking a dedicated Senior Resident Engineer / Construction Manager for bridge projects in the Sacramento region.

The key responsibilities of this role encompass:

  • Managing contracts, administration, and coordination for projects of diverse scales and types.
  • Interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating construction engineering documentation.
  • Overseeing assigned personnel to ensure contractor activities align with project plans, specifications, and contractual obligations.
  • Acting as a liaison among the Client, Project Staff, and Contractor to resolve project-related issues.
  • Handling change management and cost estimation processes.
  • Reviewing and assessing claims related to changed conditions.
  • Analyzing and resolving complex construction and design challenges.
  • Representing projects and clients in meetings and conferences.
  • Proactively identifying business development opportunities to enhance AECOM's competitive positioning.
  • Responding to Contractor correspondence as necessary.
  • Implementing on-site procedures to support staff in their tasks.
  • Keeping clients updated on project developments and proposing potential solutions.
  • Reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and special provisions.
  • Monitoring contractor progress against the approved schedule.
  • Evaluating Progress Schedules.
  • Mentoring and training team members.
  • Administering and managing contracts and budgets.
  • Coordinating with other agencies as required.
  • Working in various weather conditions and during nights and weekends.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree with 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • California licensed Civil Engineer.
  • Driving is a requirement for this position.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrated client and project relationship management skills.
  • Understanding of project contract fundamentals and accounting principles.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, mathematical, and accounting skills; proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • 10-15 years of experience in transportation and construction engineering projects, particularly roadways and bridges.
  • Experience with bridge projects constructed to Caltrans specifications.
  • Prior involvement in large bridge replacement projects.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools such as MS Project and P6 is desirable.
Additional Information

The offered compensation rate (for California locations) will be determined based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $122,820 to $227,217.
