This position is based in our Sacramento office, with project sites located throughout the Bay Area and Sacramento regions.

Position Overview

The Construction Project Leader (CPL) is accountable for the comprehensive management of construction projects from inception to completion. The CPL will report directly to the Project Executive and will be involved in all phases of the project, ensuring high-quality project management services while fostering strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety on all job sites in alignment with CSI's core value of 'Safety First.'
  • Serve as the primary liaison among the owner, architect, engineers, subcontractors, and the CSI project team.
  • Oversee all aspects of the construction project, including estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, construction, and quality assurance.
  • Assist in the selection and procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review and approve bids and budgets, ensuring a thorough understanding of project estimates.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of contracts, general conditions, and subcontract documents.
  • Train and unify field and office teams to effectively execute their responsibilities.
  • Develop, monitor, and communicate the critical path schedule and its updates.
  • Ensure accurate recording and distribution of meeting minutes among stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets, change orders, and overall job costs.
  • Supervise subcontractor schedules, quality of work, coordination with other trades, and payment processes.
  • Keep the Project Executive informed of all significant project developments.
  • Coordinate all punch list items, warranty calls, and service requests post-project completion.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience in the construction sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and Adobe Reader.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing budgets effectively.
  • Proven ability to consistently meet project deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
