Position Overview:
We are in search of a Senior Structural Engineer to guide our team in Northern California. This role involves leading the design of structural systems for a variety of building types, including educational institutions, civic projects, and mixed-use developments. You will be responsible for developing and mentoring a structural engineering team, ensuring the production of high-quality construction documents using Revit, and managing project timelines effectively.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of relevant structural engineering experience, particularly in concrete, masonry, steel, and timber design.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California; Structural Engineer (SE) license is a plus.
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).
  • Experience with BIM processes, particularly Autodesk Revit.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, creativity, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of commercial building materials and systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to sustainable design practices.
  • Experience in guiding junior staff and coordinating project activities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing innovative structural solutions from concept to construction.
  • Leading the creation of system layouts, calculations, and engineering documentation.
  • Producing detailed construction documents using Revit.
  • Assisting contractors by reviewing shop drawings and participating in project meetings.
  • Collaborating with architects and other engineers in an integrated design approach.
  • Adapting to varying building codes and construction practices across projects.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and promoting best practices within the team.
  • Contributing to the management and execution of structural engineering operations.
  • Partnering with leadership to oversee personnel functions such as training and evaluation.
  • Supporting business development efforts through RFP participation and community engagement.
