Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead the Structure Construction subdivision within the Department of Transportation. As a Principal Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing policy and guidance, managing budgets, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for bridge construction and maintenance
  • Manage capital outlay budgets and ensure effective resource allocation
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of engineers and technicians
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices
Requirements
  • Valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structure engineering, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
