Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Outdoor Maintenance Team Supervisor is to oversee the maintenance of exterior landscape accounts. This role may include additional responsibilities to ensure exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team effectively, demonstrating hands-on involvement and fair task distribution. Collaborate with management to address any performance or behavioral issues.
  • Provide on-site guidance on horticultural practices, safety protocols, equipment usage, and effective communication techniques.
  • Familiarize team members with all aspects of account management.
  • Communicate daily objectives, adjust routines as necessary, and manage breaks and meal times.
  • Organize and prioritize daily and weekly tasks, keeping management informed of any schedule modifications and seeking assistance when required.
  • Promptly report any accidents, health issues, or unusual occurrences to management.
  • Carry out various landscape maintenance activities, including tree and shrub care, flower upkeep, pruning, mowing, and fertilization.
  • Maintain open communication with management regarding plant replacements, client feedback, and specialized services.
  • Exhibit a positive demeanor and professional appearance while engaging with colleagues and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards in landscape maintenance practices.
  • Properly manage and maintain landscaping tools and equipment.
  • Keep work vehicles in good condition and adhere to maintenance guidelines.
  • Accurately log working hours and ensure restoration of work sites.
  • Assist in maintaining the shop and participate in company events as needed.
  • Monitor and respond to communications during work hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to safety and environmental standards, with a proactive approach to reporting safety concerns.
  • Possess a friendly and positive attitude, supporting departmental objectives and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Be a proactive team player with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exhibit professionalism, effective communication skills, and organizational abilities.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of horticultural education or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to identify common plant species and apply appropriate horticultural techniques.
  • Experience in safely and effectively using landscape maintenance equipment.
  • Current pesticide application license preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically capable of meeting job demands, including lifting, prolonged standing, and outdoor work.
  • Able to perform tasks in various weather conditions.
