Job Summary

The Senior Business Affairs Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development and production of film projects, including negotiating agreements with talent agents, lawyers, and production companies. This role will also involve working closely with our internal teams to ensure that all business and legal aspects of projects are handled efficiently and effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in feature film business affairs, with a strong understanding of the SAG, WGA, and DGA basic agreements. They will be an expert negotiator with excellent drafting skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Negotiate film agreements with talent agents, lawyers, and production companies, including profit participation, rights agreements, co-production, and overall/first look deals.
  2. Interface with various departments, including creative, production, marketing, finance, and contract administration, to ensure seamless project execution.
  3. Review budgets and financial data associated with film projects, providing expert analysis and recommendations.
  4. Draft and negotiate talent-related agreements, including short-form deal memos, long-form agreements, and other critical documents.
  5. Work closely with internal business and creative executives to develop best practices, implement new processes, and maintain accurate project tracking and documentation.
  6. Oversee production legal and clearance issues, ensuring compliance with corporate requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in feature film business affairs, with a strong background in negotiation, drafting, and project management.
  • Strong understanding of the SAG, WGA, and DGA basic agreements, as well as experience with talent-related agreements.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • JD and bar admission, with a strong understanding of film industry regulations and best practices.

We offer a competitive salary range of $175,000 - $225,000, as well as equity participation in our management option pool and a bonus structure.
