This position is crucial in assisting individuals in achieving competitive and integrated employment outcomes. The selected counselor will work closely with adults to facilitate their vocational rehabilitation journey, ensuring the delivery of tailored services that meet their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the case services budget.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to develop and prepare an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) in compliance with relevant laws and policies.
  • Collaborate with clients to implement and complete an IPE that leads to successful employment.
  • Provide personalized placement services to support clients in reaching their vocational goals.
  • Contribute to the overall mission of the Workforce Development Unit through various supportive activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must have a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related disciplines. Experience in one-on-one counseling, caseload management, and job placement services is essential for the Career Rehabilitation Counselor level.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or DeafBlind is highly desirable. Proficiency in a second language and the ability to communicate complex information clearly are also advantageous.

Additional Requirements:

Successful candidates will undergo a criminal background check and must be legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship. This position requires completion of an Adjustment to Blindness immersion training program to enhance understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with visual impairments.
