POSITION OVERVIEW

The Physical Therapist will deliver outpatient physical therapy services at Odom Rehab, adhering to ethical and professional standards.

Services will be provided in accordance with state-specific guidelines.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct evaluations and treatments for patients, identifying underlying issues that affect daily functioning.
  • Develop and implement individualized Plans of Care (POC) for patients, regularly reassessing to ensure goals remain relevant.
  • Supervise treatment provided by Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) based on established POC.
  • Administer treatment modalities including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and education on movement techniques and body mechanics.
  • Guide patients in self-management strategies and educate families on supporting the patient’s recovery.
  • Update POC as necessary to reflect the patient’s progress.
  • Assess and recommend adaptive equipment such as canes, walkers, and orthotics.
  • Formulate discharge plans for patients upon completion of therapy.
  • Document patient treatments daily in accordance with established practice guidelines.
  • Communicate regularly with physicians and medical staff regarding patient status.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of Odom Rehab treatment protocols as needed.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and professional development activities.
  • Maintain compliance with continuing education requirements to uphold licensure.
  • Ensure an active Physical Therapy license is maintained.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program with a valid MN State Physical Therapy License.
  • Preferred experience in a primary health care setting.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Demonstrated accountability and responsibility in professional conduct.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A valid Minnesota driver's license and a reliable vehicle are required for this position.

Employees must maintain personal vehicle insurance coverage.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role involves medium work, which includes lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
