Position Overview
Fairview Health Services is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to enhance our Long Term Acute Care Respiratory Therapy team. We offer a competitive sign-on bonus.
The Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering diagnostic and therapeutic interventions as directed by a physician. Adheres to established treatment protocols in accordance with departmental guidelines. Responsible for the collection, assessment, interpretation, and intervention in the care of patients across all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Ensures adherence to patient safety and welfare standards throughout treatment procedures.
Work Schedule: This role involves a commitment of 0.6 FTE (48 hours biweekly). Shifts will be 12 hours, alternating between day and night, with a rotation for weekends.
The typical schedule includes three 12-hour night shifts and one 12-hour day shift each pay period, with the day shift occurring every other Sunday.

- Shift differential incentives:
- $4.00/hr for night shifts

Key Responsibilities:
As a Respiratory Therapist, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing patient requirements and determining expected outcomes.
- Implementing respiratory care interventions as per the care plan.
- Evaluating patient care and responses to interventions.
- Delivering care as assigned by the physician or authorized practitioner to designated patient groups.
- Utilizing effective communication strategies to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Operating and maintaining all respiratory care equipment.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or a related field.
- License/Certification: Must possess a Respiratory Therapist License from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). New Graduates are required to obtain their RRT within six months of employment. Those holding a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential must have a minimum of three years of clinical experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Additional Requirements: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or a related field.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in a clinical respiratory therapy setting.
