Fairview Health Services is seeking a dedicated MRI Technologist to join our esteemed imaging team.

The MRI Technologist is responsible for delivering exceptional diagnostic imaging services to patients and healthcare providers. This role involves ensuring high-quality imaging, providing compassionate patient care in accordance with established protocols, and collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.

Work Schedule:

This position operates on a Baylor schedule, designed for alternative weekend work. The typical work hours consist of 12-hour shifts on Fridays and Saturdays. Employees will receive compensation equivalent to 18 hours for each 12-hour shift worked, accumulating to 72 hours per pay period.

  • 0.9 FTE - Baylor
  • Day/Evening Shifts
  • Every Weekend, Saturday and Sunday

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Conducts MRI examinations with precision.
  • Accurately interprets imaging data.
  • Communicates essential information to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Ensures patient safety and readiness for emergencies.
  • Verifies patient identification and documentation.
  • Educates patients about the procedures and relevant information.
  • Achieves optimal diagnostic images through correct positioning and technical adjustments.

Data Integrity:

  • Completes necessary computer functions, including scheduling and billing, promptly and accurately.
  • Ensures proper image marking and digital archiving.

Team Collaboration:

  • Mentors new staff and students.
  • Engages in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains personal and professional development to stay current in the field.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of workspaces and supplies.
  • Contributes to a positive workplace environment.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Equipment Operation:

  • Operates MRI equipment according to established standards.
  • Identifies and addresses equipment issues to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Maintains a high level of technical competency.
  • Adapts to new technologies as they are introduced.
  • Participates in quality assurance testing as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • ARRT Registration.
  • BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, valid prior to hire.
  • Meets MRI Safety Screen requirements.

Preferred:

  • One year of experience as an MRI Technologist.
  • MRI certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire.
