Position: Senior Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our finance and accounting team. The Senior Accounting Specialist will collaborate closely with various departments, including operations and public policy, to enhance our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Accounting Specialist will be responsible for a range of accounting and financial tasks, including:

  • Month-End Closing: Manage databases and spreadsheets, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
  • General Ledger Management: Prepare entries in compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile significant balance sheet accounts and analyze variances in financial statements.
  • Cash Management: Oversee cash transactions and reconcile all cash accounts.
  • Accruals: Identify and document necessary accruals for month-end reporting.
  • Invoicing: Prepare monthly customer invoices and maintain communication to ensure prompt payments.

Additional Accounting Functions:

  • Assist with year-end audit preparations.
  • Propose strategies to optimize costs and increase revenue.
  • Work with other departments to refine existing processes and discover new improvement opportunities.
  • Handle various ad-hoc tasks as needed.
