Position Overview

We are looking for a committed and knowledgeable Accountant to play a crucial role in maintaining our financial integrity and ensuring seamless accounting functions. The selected candidate will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements, thorough examination and analysis of accounts, and ensuring adherence to financial reporting standards. A strong understanding of accounting practices and a passion for numbers are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and document asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account data.
  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts through verification, allocation, posting, reconciliation of transactions, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Oversee the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing trial balances, and reconciling entries.
  • Summarize financial status by gathering information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including bank and credit card reconciliations, coordination of audits, and review of financial reports as needed.
  • Analyze and report on financial conditions, including income statement variances, and communicate results to management while assisting in budget preparation and analysis.
  • Enhance systems and procedures while initiating corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manage tax obligations in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Track and manage the performance of invested assets in alignment with policies and strategies.
  • Recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Participate in the establishment of financial standards and forecasting processes.
  • Contribute to departmental goal-setting initiatives.
  • Assist with tax audits and the preparation of tax returns.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant or in a similar capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and related regulations.
  • Proficient understanding of accounting and financial processes, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and forecasting techniques.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g., SAP).
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in commercial real estate accounting, fixed asset accounting, and year-end close processes is preferred.
  • CPA certification is a significant advantage.
