Job Summary

Athena Finance & Accounting is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Accounting Consultant to join their team for a long-term engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all financial records are accurate and compliant with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and complex account reconciliations
  • Participate in month-end and year-end close process, including financial statement preparation, analysis, and forecasting
  • Prepare detailed and accurate financial reports and support internal audits
  • Utilize an ERP system to manage and analyze, prepare, and present financial data
  • Work closely with the accounting team to identify and address any accounting issues or discrepancies, and to develop and implement process improvements to ensure the highest level of accounting quality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a mid-sized manufacturing environment
  • Excellent financial acumen and the ability to analyze complex financial data
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., MS Dynamics, Oracle, NetSuite) and Excel
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
