Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Location: This position is onsite.
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $70,000-$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skillset.
Position Overview:
As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for key accounting functions, including the preparation of journal entries, management of balance sheet schedules, and account reconciliations. You will be integral to our monthly closing processes, account analysis, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. Key Responsibilities:
The Accounting Specialist will be expected to perform the following tasks:
- Assist in the collection, analysis, verification, and reporting of financial data to document the company's financial performance and position, enabling informed financial decisions.
- Support the preparation of forecasts, draft annual budgets, and analyze expenditures to create periodic statements and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of cash flow statements, treasury cash summaries, and monthly cash flow projections.
- Contribute to the development of budgets, KPI reports, financial forecasts, and ad-hoc financial reports for executive leadership.
- Prepare general ledger journal entries and perform account reconciliations for treasury, revenue, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
- Maintain subsidiary ledgers and other financial and accounting records.
- Support the operations department with monthly commission calculations and various financial tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all deliverables while promoting collaboration and accountability.
- Assist with finance-related ad-hoc assignments as required.
- Provide clerical support to the accounting supervisor on an as-needed basis.
The Accounting Specialist must possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is mandatory.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage growth.
- Proactive mindset and a collaborative team player.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Detail-oriented with a flexible approach.
- Proficient in Excel and financial modeling.
- Experience with Big4 or Mid-Tier firms is highly regarded but not essential.
- An MBA in accounting or finance is preferred but not required.
- A CPA license is preferred but not required.
