POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Customer Engagement Specialist is responsible for executing various customer service functions, which include warmly welcoming and assisting all patrons in a timely and courteous manner, handling products with care, and providing essential information and guidance to customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures all firearms brought into the retail space are secured with trigger locks.
  • Registers all vendor representatives, completing necessary visitor log details and managing visitor badges.
  • Commits to delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring a pleasant and efficient shopping experience for all guests.
  • Greets every customer upon entry with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Processes merchandise returns, completing necessary refund or exchange documentation.
  • Organizes returns by category and ensures items are returned to their designated areas.
  • Sells appropriate hunting and fishing licenses.
  • Manages and oversees all incentive and rewards programs.
  • Maintains product knowledge and stays informed about current promotions.
  • Keeps the work area tidy, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Delivers a memorable experience for every customer by assisting them in making informed purchasing decisions by:
    • Identifying and assessing customer needs
    • Making tailored product recommendations based on this assessment
    • Promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to perform calculations for discounts and provide accurate change to customers.
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
  • Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale system.

  • N/A

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Constantly stand and/or walk during shifts.
  • Regularly communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Frequently repeat motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
  • Occasionally work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Occasionally work in noisy environments.
  • Light work involving constant lifting and moving of objects up to 20 pounds, with occasional lifting of objects up to 100 pounds or more (using team lift as necessary).

INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT:

  • Completes tasks and responsibilities under general supervision, utilizing established procedures and innovative thinking. Makes selections from limited alternatives to address issues. Occasionally exercises independent judgment to complete assignments and often recommends improvements to work processes, policies, and practices.
