The Construction Project Coordinator assists the Project Manager and Project Superintendent with daily operations on-site, including processing Requests for Information (RFI), managing submittals, compiling daily reports, overseeing material procurement, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. This role may also involve supervising cleanup teams and monitoring specific work segments.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Construction Project Coordinator, you will be an integral member of the construction project team. Your primary daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and organizing project documentation in line with Christman standards and risk management protocols to facilitate easy access for team members.
  • Proactively preparing project close-out documents to ensure timely final compilation and delivery, securing all necessary contractual documents, including safety programs and quality control plans.
  • Coordinating the processing of close-out documents for all subcontracts as projects conclude.
  • Summarizing key discussions, inquiries, and decisions from regular project meetings, owner consultations, and subcontractor discussions.
  • Collaborating with clients and architects to define punch-list items.
  • Leveraging technology to streamline the punch list process, aiming for completion within 30 days post-substantial completion.
  • Assisting the Project Manager in identifying required inspections and creating project-specific inspection logs.
  • Providing procurement, material tracking, and inspection information to the Project Superintendent.
  • Managing the RFI process to ensure timely information flow among all parties, updating contract drawings to reflect approved changes.
  • Organizing and prioritizing submittal requirements as per contract documents, ensuring timely submissions, reviewing shop drawings for compliance, and managing the architect's review process.
  • Supporting the Project Superintendent by monitoring work quality and adherence to construction documents.
  • Assisting the Project Superintendent with daily reports and managing progress and quality documentation.
  • Posting required safety information and signage to inform all personnel about site hazards and ensuring compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Promoting safety awareness and practices at all times, reporting any concerns to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager.
  • Supporting logistics for all safety initiatives outlined in the site-specific safety plan.
  • Serving as a peer coach as necessary.
  • Completing all required training for this position.

What You Bring to the Team:

Essential Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the construction industry, with previous internships in construction management or related fields considered.
  • OR, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of individuals, both internal and external.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision, effectively planning and organizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and take responsibility for actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: Most work occurs outdoors at construction sites and in office trailers where project oversight and decision-making take place. Exposure to loud noises from construction equipment is common, and protective gear is required on-site.
