Daily Responsibilities

The Retirement Benefits Coordinator will oversee the daily management of a 401(k) plan and a pension plan, providing customer support via phone. This role includes processing time-sensitive requests for plan distributions, assessing eligibility for benefits, and offering administrative assistance for various retirement plans. Responsibilities include managing transactions for monthly pension payrolls, ensuring the accuracy of earnings and deductions, and approving final payrolls. Additionally, this position involves processing biweekly and monthly 401(k) contributions and reconciling month-end accounts. The role also entails determining death benefits for both active and retired members, which includes all communications with beneficiaries and the disbursement of benefits. Essential skills for this position include strong organizational abilities, multitasking, customer service expertise, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
