Position Overview:

At Cafe Sevilla, the Tapas Bartender role is pivotal in ensuring that guests experience the vibrant music, exquisite cuisine, and rich culture that Sevilla has to offer. This position emphasizes the importance of building lasting relationships with patrons, encouraging repeat visits through exceptional service.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to understanding Sevilla's unique cultural elements through both hands-on training and independent study. The ability to effectively convey Sevilla's distinctive features to guests, contribute positively to the workplace atmosphere, and adhere to company, state, and federal regulations is essential for success in this role.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and articulate Sevilla's culinary offerings, specialty drinks, and ongoing promotions in alignment with the Company's Service Standards. The objective is to educate guests about the food, wines, and cultural heritage of Spain.
  • Adhere to the Sevilla Service Standards relevant to this position.
  • Utilize daily Opening and Closing Checklists to ensure all procedures are completed accurately.
  • Strive to create an exceptional guest experience that fosters customer loyalty.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service consistently.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries and requests.
  • Ensure compliance with food and beverage entry protocols as per company policies.
  • Assess the quality of all items served, ensuring only top-quality food and beverages are presented.
  • Prepare drinks according to Sevilla's specific recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring all surfaces are kept tidy.
  • Handle payment transactions for all food and beverages served, following cash handling procedures meticulously.
  • Address routine guest concerns following Sevilla's guidelines, escalating non-routine issues to management as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all cleanliness standards.
  • Complete all end-of-shift duties and ensure proper sign-off by management.
  • Uphold sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies to protect both the establishment and its patrons.
  • Report any maintenance or safety concerns to a manager immediately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service.

Compliance and Safety:
  • Follow all Alcohol Serving Procedures, ensuring responsible service and compliance with age restrictions.
  • Utilize bar tools safely and effectively.
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
  • Maintain an inventory of bar tools, ensuring they are not lost or damaged.
  • Complete all required training and assessments.
  • Exhibit teamwork by maintaining a positive attitude and collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Adhere to uniform standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Additional Expectations:
  • Accurately clock in and out for each shift, following company procedures.
  • Take breaks as outlined in company policy, ensuring compliance with meal period regulations.
  • Participate in all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Report any concerns regarding workplace safety or conduct to management immediately.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role within a fast-paced dining environment, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: Current Food Handler's Card and LEAD Card.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with company POS and timekeeping systems.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typically loud and may involve close quarters. A clean and professional appearance is required at all times, in accordance with company standards.
