Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales and Marketing Manager to join our team at Water Grill South Coast Plaza. As an Event Sales Manager, you will be responsible for generating revenue in Private Dining & Events in the restaurants assigned to you through direct specified sales activities and marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth and increase market share.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key corporate, business, and travel industry accounts, as well as community organizations and the media.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including soliciting, negotiating, and booking new and repeat clients.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and other departments to ensure excellent guest satisfaction and seamless event execution.
  • Manage business on the books successfully and work pipeline of inquiries, prospects, tentative and definite bookings.
  • Conduct client visits and presentations to build private dining sales and promote Water Grill South Coast Plaza as a premier event venue.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and seek creative ways to infiltrate new markets and accounts.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating menus and packages to satisfy guest needs and maximize revenue.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective sales collateral tools and promotional materials.
  • Meet with guests to determine menu pricing, room setup, special requests, and coordinates tastings as needed.
  • Manage all deposits and refunds, and ensures timely and accurate communication with clients.
Requirements
  • A four-year college degree or equivalent education or experience is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of sales and hospitality principles and practices is expected.
  • At least 4 years previous sales experience in a restaurant and hotel operation.
  • Ability to write business correspondences and set up contracts and function sheets.
  • Ability to professionally present promotional materials to prospective clients, and to effectively communicate and coordinate with GM, Banquet Manager, Chef/kitchen staff, and outside vendors.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts for customer contracts.
  • Stable and progressive work history; Strong work ethic.
