Position Overview

The Business Systems Analyst serves as a critical link between the university's educational, research, and administrative sectors and the Business Enterprise Systems and Technologies (BEST). This role is essential in facilitating the achievement of business objectives across various units.

Candidates with the following qualifications will be given additional consideration:

• Familiarity with travel and expense management systems

• Knowledge of procurement processes from source to payment

• Experience with cloud-based financial systems

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support moderately complex business processes, ensuring alignment between technology solutions and business strategies.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with business partners and BCS to deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis to comprehend business strategy requirements.
  • Assess client needs through a structured requirements process to prioritize business objectives. Investigate and resolve client and user issues, identifying technical needs and proposing solutions.
  • Draft and communicate business requirements and functional specifications for implementing business solutions.
  • Assist in documenting current business processes and developing business cases.
  • Review modules for quality assurance, adhering to established standards and procedures.
  • Create user test cases, validate results during testing, and execute test scenarios.
  • Investigate and resolve client and user issues, escalating as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develop corrective actions.
  • Perform routine application maintenance tasks.
  • Support the analysis of client satisfaction data to ensure IT solutions meet user needs.
  • Document functions and changes to new or modified modules and testing activities/results.Perform related duties as required by departmental needs. This job description is subject to change.
Education Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field is required.

Six (6) years of relevant work experience or specialized training may substitute for the educational requirement.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of two (2) years of relevant technical or business experience is required.
