Position Overview

As a Business Systems Analyst, you will act as a crucial link between the university's educational, research, and administrative sectors and the Business Enterprise Systems and Technologies (BEST). Your role will be pivotal in enabling various business units to meet their operational objectives.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess:

  • Experience with travel and expense management systems.
  • Familiarity with procurement solutions from source to payment.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based financial systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and independent troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective collaboration capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with business partners to support and enhance moderately complex business processes, ensuring alignment between technology solutions and business strategies.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with business partners and BCS to deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis to comprehend business strategy requirements.
  • Evaluate client needs through a structured requirements process to prioritize business objectives. Address and resolve client and user issues, identifying technical needs and proposing solutions.
  • Draft and communicate business requirements and functional specifications for implementing business solutions.
  • Assist in documenting existing business processes and developing business cases.
  • Review system modules for quality assurance, adhering to established standards and procedures.
  • Create user test cases, validate testing outcomes, and execute test scenarios.
  • Investigate and resolve client and user issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Identify errors or deficiencies in existing information systems and develop corrective measures.
  • Perform routine application maintenance tasks as required.
  • Support the analysis of client satisfaction data, ensuring IT solutions align with client needs.
  • Document functions and modifications to new or updated modules and testing activities/results.
  • Carry out related duties as needed by the department. Note that this job description is subject to change.
Educational Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline is required.

Alternatively, six (6) years of relevant work experience or specialized training may substitute for the educational requirement.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of two (2) years of relevant technical or business experience is required.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, with no unusual physical or environmental demands.
