Position Overview

The Business Systems Analyst serves as a crucial link between the educational, research, and administrative sectors of the university and the Business Enterprise Systems and Technologies (BEST) team. This role is essential in facilitating the achievement of business objectives across various units.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with travel and expense management platforms
  • Familiarity with procurement and source-to-pay systems
  • Knowledge of cloud-based financial solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support moderately complex business processes, ensuring alignment between technology solutions and business strategies.
  • Maintain effective relationships with business partners and the BCS team to deliver optimal technical solutions.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis to comprehend business strategy requirements.
  • Evaluate client needs through a structured requirements process to prioritize business objectives.
  • Develop and articulate business requirements and functional specifications for implementing solutions.
  • Document existing business processes and assist in business case development.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of modules and adhere to established standards.
  • Create user test cases, validate results, and execute testing procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve client and user issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Diagnose existing information systems for errors or deficiencies and propose solutions.
  • Conduct routine application maintenance tasks.
  • Support the analysis of client satisfaction data to ensure IT solutions meet user needs.
  • Document changes to modules and test activities/results.
  • Undertake related duties as required by departmental needs.
Educational Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field is required.

Alternatively, six (6) years of relevant work experience or specialized training may substitute for the educational requirement.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of two (2) years of relevant technical or business experience is required.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office environment with no unusual physical demands.
