Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Role Overview:

This reputable aerospace organization is in search of a manufacturing engineer dedicated to enhancing aftermarket operations. The individual will provide essential engineering support for production units, concentrating on converting technical specifications into actionable process plans for production personnel while addressing any technical challenges related to processes and equipment.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9-hour shifts starting between 7 and 8 AM
  • 45 hours per week
  • Overtime compensation for hours exceeding 40 per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret technical manuals and documentation to devise methods and processes for the repair and overhaul of intricate components
  • Draft process plans and work instructions for production staff
  • Plan operational sequences, estimate time requirements, and develop schedules
  • Assess components for deviations from specifications or unknown conditions
  • Investigate and establish requirements for equipment, tooling, and materials, including decisions on manufacturing versus outsourcing and facility layout for new or modified products
  • Identify and troubleshoot process-related issues
  • Offer technical assistance to operational teams
  • Collaborate with external engineering firms as necessary to resolve hardware or process challenges
  • Manage multiple manufacturing and automation initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers engaged in repair activities
  • Analyze process data to foster continuous improvement

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical capacity, with the ability to quickly adapt
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency in interpreting manufacturing drawings into 3D models and GD&T
  • Experience in translating technical requirements into operator-level work instructions (drawings, prints, manuals)

Position Type:

This role is a contract position with the potential for extension or transition to a permanent role.
