POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role in the exploration, development, and implementation of additive manufacturing techniques. This position involves evaluating intricate engineering challenges by investigating and advising on all technical aspects of projects and processes. The Senior Engineer will be a vital contributor to the planning, investigation, and execution of strategic business initiatives related to additive manufacturing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and oversees new manufacturing processes as required.
  • Diagnoses issues leading to rejected components and manufacturing challenges.
  • Engages in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) evaluations with internal teams.
  • Assists in the design and management of fixtures' fabrication or procurement.
  • Participates in and occasionally leads teams focused on problem resolution.
  • Contributes to the creation of programs and 3D models.
  • Receives training and development across various engineering disciplines.
  • Collaborates with Operations Analysts to ensure consistent data availability, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Supports the establishment of processes to achieve annual and strategic objectives.
  • Participates in necessary training sessions delivered to the site team.
  • Contributes to the definition of One Orchid processes as outlined by the Director of Operations Excellence Transformation.
  • Works closely with the Lead Change Agent - Manager of Operations Excellence Transformation.
  • Provides assistance to team members to ensure they possess the necessary knowledge and skills.
  • Ensures that key program implementation milestones are clearly understood and communicated.
  • Engages in planning objectives.
  • Investigates and provides insights on unique and complex engineering challenges.
  • Assists in and occasionally develops programs and 3D models.
  • Interacts and communicates effectively with customers.
  • May offer periodic technical guidance to less experienced professionals or technicians involved in common projects.
  • Conducts validations and revalidations as needed and creates associated protocols.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Engineering (Required)
  • Master's Degree in Engineering (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of engineering experience (Required)
  • 7+ years of engineering experience (Preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (Preferred)
  • Experience with CNC equipment/machining (Preferred)
  • Lean manufacturing experience (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with integrated business planning, quality system deployment, and lean manufacturing in an industrial context (Preferred)
