Chemours is currently seeking a Project Manager to become a vital part of our expanding team. This role will focus on overseeing significant engineering projects, which may involve constructing new facilities or enhancing existing ones, typically with budgets exceeding $50 million. You will be responsible for planning, leading, and managing all engineering activities associated with assigned capital projects throughout their lifecycle, from conception to initial operation. As a key member of the project team, you will report to Engineering Management, who will provide guidance to ensure excellence and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to design and implement new facilities and upgrade existing processes in alignment with business goals.
  • Assess alternative design options and specific scope alternatives through life cycle cost analysis.
  • Develop discipline-specific scopes of work, estimates, and specifications, ensuring compliance with corporate and recognized industrial standards.
  • Establish asset capitalization and project accounting frameworks within SAP.
  • Create a comprehensive project schedule that includes critical design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness tasks.
  • Engage with contractor design teams.
  • Communicate with equipment suppliers/vendors to address design challenges and resolve issues.
  • Work with construction teams to troubleshoot construction challenges and monitor labor productivity on-site.
  • Manage project finances by tracking and forecasting expenditures while applying effective change management practices.
  • Ensure the successful completion of all project deliverables by overseeing and facilitating the execution of scheduled activities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in chemical or mechanical disciplines.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial experience, ideally in titanium dioxide production or capital project management.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a knack for prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
  • Capability to build consensus among diverse teams regarding scopes of work.
  • Proficient in facilitating meetings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with mechanical integrity and quality assurance standards.
  • Completion of Project Team Leader Academy or equivalent project management training (PMP certification).
  • Understanding of methodologies for developing project economics.
  • Aptitude for translating business objectives into actionable project scopes.
  • Experience in preparing estimates and creating integrated schedules while analyzing task durations, sequencing, and critical paths.
