Position Overview:

We are seeking an Operational Buyer/Scheduler to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the Supply Chain Manager and works in tandem with the Production Planner and Supply Chain Procurement to facilitate the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across various levels of management and teams within manufacturing and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, adjust, and authorize order requirements generated by the S4 ERP system and issue Purchase Orders to suppliers.
  • Oversee the creation and management of expedited purchase orders via S4 HANNA, ensuring confirmation of orders meets procurement needs.
  • Track open purchase orders and manage late deliveries efficiently.
  • Ensure alignment of ROH and VERP purchase specifications across facilities.
  • Review incoming invoices for accuracy in relation to goods received and billing.
  • Coordinate with production planners to align RAW/VERP demand.
  • Facilitate the delivery of materials in collaboration with Logistics and Warehouse teams.
  • Conduct quarterly and yearly evaluations of supplier performance.
  • Assist in resolving supplier payment issues.
  • Manage and enter level 2 Quality Notifications specific to suppliers.
  • Support plant operations through inventory analysis and optimization of direct material levels.
  • Ensure supply assurance and monitor supplier delivery performance for key suppliers.
  • Provide training and guidance on procurement administration and assist in resolving issues within the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process.
  • Maintain all ERP system modules related to Materials Planning and Production Control, monitoring for issues and implementing corrections.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Engineering to establish delivery commitments and provide early warnings and corrective action recommendations to management if commitments are at risk.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for planning and purchasing functions.
  • Serve as a backup for the plant production planner.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure accurate tracking of delivery dates for incoming materials.
  • Prevent production shortfalls due to material shortages.
  • Generate Quality Notifications from suppliers regarding material availability and drive resolution and corrective actions.

Essential Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, Logistics, Procurement, or Manufacturing.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems to manage material supply flows in manufacturing.
  • Daily experience with Excel, SAP, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Task-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Capable of developing leadership relationships with diverse individuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Knowledge of SAP in areas such as Purchasing, Logistics, and Accounts Payable.
  • Experience in the end-to-end process of customer order fulfillment.
  • Understanding of rates and process capabilities in Chemical Operations.
  • Able to engage with various personalities in a consistent and professional manner.
  • Strong motivational skills.
