Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Capital & Project Manager will oversee the interpretation, organization, execution, and management of strategic capital enhancements and special projects within the engineering division at our New Johnsonville, TN facility. This role encompasses engineering evaluations, project oversight, budget management, and the sustainability strategy for various strategic and capital initiatives. Additionally, the Capital & Project Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the Plant's Five-Year Capital Plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the comprehensive project schedule, scope, budget, and quality through proficient project management for all site projects.
  • Manage intricate engineering projects related to new production, capital investments, and cost-saving initiatives, including preparing capital appropriations and guiding projects from conceptualization to operational hand-off.
  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication among project team members, vendors, operations, and management regarding safety incidents, delays, cost adjustments, or project impacts.
  • Administer the overall capital budget, tracking expenses for various engineering projects, coordinating with the Purchasing Department for bids, and assisting in vendor selection for optimal value.
  • Successfully coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, establishing timelines and deadlines for planning, implementing, and sustaining engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with site management to supervise external vendors and contractors, ensuring adherence to safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide backup support for other managers during their absence and undertake additional duties as assigned, necessitating an understanding of manufacturing processes and instrumentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience, including at least 2 years in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent planning and organizational capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes, Project Management, and Process Control Systems.
  • Proven Project Management expertise.
