Chemours is currently seeking an Engineering Project Coordinator to join our expanding team. This role will be based at our designated location.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and leading engineering evaluations, technical assessments, calculations, and planning activities. This position involves managing projects that may focus on constructing new facilities or enhancing existing ones, typically with budgets exceeding $50 million. You will plan, lead, and oversee all engineering tasks associated with assigned capital projects throughout their lifecycle, from initial concept to operational readiness. As a member of a project team, you will report to Engineering Management, who will provide guidance to ensure functional excellence and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborating with plant engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to design and implement new facilities and upgrade current processes in alignment with business goals.
  • Assessing alternative design concepts and specific scope options through life cycle cost analysis.
  • Creating discipline-specific scopes of work, estimates, and specifications, ensuring compliance with corporate and recognized industrial standards.
  • Establishing asset capitalization and project accounting structures.
  • Developing project schedules that encompass key design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness tasks.
  • Engaging with contractor design teams and equipment suppliers to address design challenges and resolve issues.
  • Monitoring project costs by forecasting expenditures and implementing effective change management practices.
  • Ensuring all project deliverables are met by overseeing and facilitating the completion of scheduled activities.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • A minimum of one year of industrial experience or cooperative education experience, preferably in titanium dioxide manufacturing or capital project management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Skill in building consensus among diverse workgroups regarding scopes of work.
  • Proficiency in facilitating meetings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with mechanical integrity and quality assurance standards.
  • Completion of Project Team Leader Academy or equivalent project management training (PMP certification).
  • Understanding of methodologies for developing project economics.
  • Aptitude for translating business objectives into project scopes.
  • Experience in preparing estimates and creating integrated schedules.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • 401(k) matching.
  • Employee stock purchase program.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
  • Commuter benefits.
  • Opportunities for learning and development.
  • Strong initiatives for inclusion and diversity.
  • Company-sponsored volunteer days.

At Chemours, we view our employees as our most valuable assets. Rather than focusing solely on daily tasks, we emphasize how our employees engage with their work—fostering a culture of talent development, employee engagement, and inclusivity. Our aim is to empower individuals to excel both at Chemours and in their personal lives. We take pride in being recognized as a Great Place to Work.
