Chemours is currently looking for a Project Manager to become part of our expanding workforce. This role will be integral to overseeing significant engineering projects.
The position entails leading engineering assessments, technical evaluations, calculations, and strategic planning. The projects managed may involve constructing new facilities or optimizing existing ones, typically with budgets exceeding 50 million USD. The Project Manager will be responsible for all engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from conception to initial operational readiness. This role collaborates with Engineering Management to ensure excellence, skill development, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to design and enhance facilities and processes in alignment with business goals.
- Assess alternative design options and specific project scopes through life cycle cost analysis.
- Draft discipline-specific scopes of work, cost estimates, and specifications, ensuring compliance with corporate and industry standards.
- Establish asset capitalization and project accounting frameworks within SAP.
- Create a comprehensive project timeline, incorporating critical design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness tasks.
- Engage with contractor design teams.
- Communicate with equipment suppliers to address design challenges and resolve issues.
- Coordinate with construction teams to troubleshoot construction challenges and monitor labor efficiency.
- Manage project finances by tracking and forecasting expenditures while implementing effective change management practices.
- Ensure the successful completion of all project deliverables by overseeing scheduled activities.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in chemical or mechanical disciplines.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial settings, ideally in titanium dioxide production or capital project management.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a knack for prioritizing and managing multiple projects.
- Capability to foster consensus among diverse teams regarding project scopes.
- Proficient in facilitating meetings effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with mechanical integrity and quality assurance standards.
- Completion of Project Team Leader Academy or equivalent project management training (PMP certification).
- Understanding of project economic development methodologies.
- Aptitude for translating business objectives into actionable project scopes.
- Experience in preparing cost estimates.
- Ability to create integrated schedules and analyze project timelines for duration, sequencing, and critical paths.
