Job Summary:

The Field Service Operations Manager is responsible for leading the Field Service Customer Service Team in providing excellent customer service by successfully scheduling and leading the activities of the team. The successful candidate will oversee or directly perform customer service activities related to the operations and maintenance functions on the Company's distribution assets, including meter reading, water quality complaints, services, and hydrants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads activities of the Customer Service Team, including scheduling, coordinating resources, and monitoring performance to establish and meet Company and Region Field Service initiatives and goals.
  • Partners with the Superintendent to effectively manage the team.
  • Effectively communicates with the team and leadership to ensure team members are demonstrating Company values and their work is contributing to Company goals.
  • Trains and develops team members to ensure the team has the skills required to perform the work.
  • Performs all administrative functions required to successfully perform the role, including work order creation and closure, keeping operations and maintenance records current in the system, generating monthly production reports, approving invoices and purchasing orders, and other computer-based tasks.
  • Responsible for the region's meter reading activities, including adherence to the Company's billing cycles, identification of efficiencies, and assignment of resources.
  • Maintains the distribution assets, including flushing mains, hydrant maintenance, service box repairs, and other system upkeep as needed or required.
  • Installs assets, including mains, hydrants, services, and meters.
  • Works directly with customers, as well as state and local town officials, as needed, to proactively coordinate all Customer Service related activities to establish a positive rapport with local communities.
  • Works directly with contractors to coordinate activities while ensuring compliance to the Company standards, including safety, water quality, and customer satisfaction requirements.
  • Leads or directly maintains Company facilities, including snow plowing, tree work, road repair, and dam maintenance.
  • Responsible for learning, following, and ensuring compliance with all safety rules, including rules and regulations in the Company Safety Manual, OSHA regulations, and other state, federal, or governing body's rules and regulations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Three to five years of experience in Field Services or a similar position
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL A)
  • Drivers License
  • Computer skills
  • Analytical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Communication skills
