POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in assisting the Store Manager to foster a customer-centric and product-oriented sales environment. This includes overseeing sales operations, safeguarding assets, and managing human resources functions to ensure an exceptional customer experience and optimal profitability. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performance Culture

Evaluates sales reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify business needs; collaborates with the Store Manager to implement in-store business and sales strategies.

Sets and communicates clear expectations, holding both the store team and themselves accountable for meeting all brand, performance, and behavioral standards.

Manages payroll and supply budgets effectively.

Oversees essential operational tasks such as scheduling, conducting shrink audits, managing physical inventory, and ensuring accurate payroll documentation.

Handles all financial transactions in accordance with company policies, including cash management and merchandise handling.

Ensures compliance with relevant laws, loss prevention policies, and operational procedures; conducts training for associates to reinforce proper controls.

Administers all operational processes, including inventory management and daily replenishment of merchandise.

Maintains visual presentation and facility upkeep that reflects the brand's standards.

Fosters a high-performance culture, motivating the sales team to achieve assigned sales and productivity targets.

Provides training and coaching to ensure the sales team is knowledgeable about products both online and in-store.

Building High Performing Teams

Inspires and motivates the store team, creating a shared vision while exemplifying core values.

Encourages an inclusive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Communicates effectively with store teams and the Store Manager to lead positive changes.

Seeks opportunities for personal development and actively seeks feedback to enhance leadership skills.

Customer Experience

Models, teaches, and promotes exceptional customer service principles, ensuring a cohesive omni-channel experience.

Demonstrates sales expectations through various techniques and shares product knowledge with customers; assists in merchandise selection based on customer preferences.

Ensures timely resolution of customer inquiries and concerns.

Facilitates a swift and efficient checkout experience, staying informed on policies regarding payments, returns, and exchanges.

Ensures the team maintains consistent communication with clients through various engagement strategies.

Talent Development

Assists in the recruitment, hiring, and development of a high-performing team.

Supports and implements training programs and provides follow-up to ensure effectiveness.

Evaluates and coaches the store team on performance metrics.

Collaborates with the Store Manager to address human resources issues promptly and effectively.

Encourages team engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.

Ensures adherence to all employment practices and policies by the store team.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

2+ years of experience in retail management preferred.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Able to adapt to technology provided by the company.

Proven track record of exceptional customer service and leadership skills.

Strong organizational abilities and capacity to multitask in a dynamic environment.

Demonstrated leadership qualities, with skills in training and team building.

Knowledge of the administrative aspects of store operations.

Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff.

Regular attendance is essential to meet company objectives; flexible work schedule required, including nights and weekends.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Constant walking/standing throughout the shift.

Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Frequent climbing during the shift.
